Many of the principles of 2d animation apply to 3d animation as well (particularly when working with "cartoony" characters like the TF2 lot). I'd also recommend getting a good book on traditional animation technique. Look at how things move in the real world, and how you could exxagerate them for added effect. I recommend starting with the Valve Pose to Pose animation tutorials:Īfter completing those, spend a lot of time looking at things in the real world, and in other animated movies. I've logged nearly 400 hours on SFM and I still suck compared to any of the good videos online. Good animation takes a lot of time and work. ![]()
